Brant Skating Club Announces Reception to Honour National Competitors

Submitted Media Release

The Brant Skating Club has extended invitation to all fans and supporters to join them on Monday, January 27th from 4:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre to recognize the outstanding achievements of their 2020 National Competitors and coach Alison Purkiss.

Last week at the Canadian Tire National Skating Championships the club celebrated as senior pair skaters Evelyn Walsh and Trennt Michaud earned their second consecutive silver medal at Canada’s highest level of pairs skating competition.

Brantford and the Brant Skating Club is also now the home of two more national championships. Junior pair skaters Patricia Andrew and Zachary Daleman, and novice pair skaters Lily Wilberforce and Aidan Wright, earned gold medals and the national title in their competitions. Walsh and Michaud previously earned junior national champion honours in 2017. All three teams are coached in Brantford at the Wayne Gretzky Sports Centre by Alison Purkiss, a Brant Skating Club alumnus.

The reception is open to the public and scheduled from 4pm to 5pm. It’s a great opportunity for comments, photos and autographs.
