Lions, Tigers and Bears – Oh My!

Lions, Tigers and Bears – Oh My!

Brantford Twin Valley Zoo, located at 84 Langford Church Road, is the perfect size zoo with just the right attractions for your family outing or day date. Built on 25 beautiful acres, the Zoo opened its gates in 1991 to allow a place for families to enjoy and experience wild life up close and personal.

This family-owned park prides themselves on forging love, respect and understanding for all animals, conservation, and our environment. The park includes several picnic areas as well as a nature trail. It is home to over 80 species of animals including: lions, tigers, wolves, flamingos, goats, kangaroos, deer, and many more.

You can spend a few hours at the park, or bring a lunch and spend a whole day picnicking with the animals as your backdrop. Pop, snacks, water, and souvenirs are located in the Gift Shop at the front entrance to ensure you have everything you need to enjoy a beautiful day of outdoor fun.

COVID-19 hit the Twin Valley Zoo hard. They rely on a short season to provide for their staff and animals, with school trips heavily funding the spring season. The pandemic hit just weeks before the zoo was set to open, and with zero revenune coming in and school trips being cancelled, the Zoo had to dig deep to find money to feed and pay veterinary bills for the animals, which gets very expensive when you look after 80 species. As if that wasn't difficult enough, Twin Valley Zoo then suffered the loss of their beautiful Lynx, Natasha. The lynx sustained an injury while playfully wrestling with her partner, Boris and fell and broke her leg. She passed away peacefully during surgery. Twin Valley Zoo is humbly asking for donations and has set up a GoFundMe page if you are able to contribute.

Brantford Twin Valley Zoo will be operating very differently this year. Six feet spacing markers have been placed in the parking lot, entryway and throughout the Zoo. Only one family allowed in the gift shop at a time. Please wait your turn before coming through. There will be no touching or feeding the animals, no educational shows, and washrooms will be open but will also have the "one family per washroom" rule and will be sanitized frequently.

Brantford Twin Valley Zoo is open Monday through Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. through October 25, 2020.
