Brantford’s Beloved Independent Bookstore

Brantford’s Beloved Independent Bookstore

Quick! Can you name the only independently run bookstore in Brantford? If you said The Brantford Bookworm, you’d be right! Currently in the care of Kerry Besta and her son Kyle, the store has been independently owned and operated since it first opened 40 years ago.

The used bookstore, located on Brant Ave., across the road from the W. Ross Macdonald School, is every bibliophile’s dream. The cozy little shop is stacked floor to ceiling with books of all genres, including a huge selection of mystery, romance, biographies, science fiction, and historical works. The fantasy room boasts both new and old releases, and the children’s room is well stocked with paperbacks and picture books.

Maybe you’re itching to try some new recipes and could use a cookbook, or perhaps you’re trying to pick up a new skill and want a ‘How To’ guide. Whatever the urge, somewhere in their 25,000 piece collection, the Brantford Bookworm has a book for you!

Plus, if you’ve finally finished those books from your reading list and want to trade them in for new ones, the Bookworm still offers their trade-in program where they will exchange good quality texts for in-store credit. Currently, trade-ins are by appointment only.

Now more than ever, it’s important to support local businesses. The Brantford Bookworm invites you to browse their collection Tuesday to Friday from 10am to 5pm, and Saturdays from 10am to 4pm. Visit them online at www.brantfordbookworm.ca
