For many dog lovers, the highlight of their pet’s day is also the highlight of theirs. Walking your dog is a great way to get some exercise outdoors. Here's a few ways that you can explore your community with your furry friend.
Practice Agility on Brantford's Trails
Explore the 70 kilometres of trails in Brantford with your pet. While walking, encourage your dog to step up and down, move around and over, and balance on the obstacles along your path. Embracing their natural curiosity about the features around them can improve their balance and dexterity. Please ensure you keep your dog on a leash and clean up after your dog anywhere within the city.
Go Off-Leash at Dogford Park
Sometimes a dog just wants to run. Brantford’s public off-leash community space, Dogford Park at 189 Gilkison Street, is the perfect place for it. The park is open 7 days a week except for Tuesday mornings for grass cutting (seasonally).
Rules and regulations at Dogford Park:
- Clean up after your dog and dispose of waste properly
- Fill any holes that your dog digs
- Move around the park with your dog instead of staying near the gate
- Have drinking water available for your dog
