Artists to Compete in Art Battle at The Rope Factory

Artists to Compete in Art Battle at The Rope Factory

On Thursday, June 22, Art Battle® Brantford is coming to The Rope Factory Event Hall in the Brantford Artisans’ Village. This event is produced by Murky Productions in partnership with Paint-Club and The Rope Factory.

Art Battle is a live painting competition that happens in over 50 cities worldwide. Painters get a canvas, and can use acrylic paint, brushes, palette knives, and any other non-mechanical implements to create their best work. The catch? They only have 20 minutes to transform their canvases from blank to beautiful! During the competition, the audience members can move around the easels, and at the end of the competition, they vote for their favourite, and have the opportunity to buy the works that go up for auction that night.

Artists can apply to paint in the Art Battle online. This event encourages all ages to participate, and there is no fee to be one of the participating artists. To apply to paint in Art Battle Brantford, click here to open a new browser window.

The medium is acrylic paint and the tools allowed are brushes, palette knives or any non-mechanical implements. At the end of the round, the audience votes democratically for their favourite painting and bids in silent auction to take the work home. Art Battle happens in over 50 cities worldwide, check for local listings!
