Bell Summer Theatre Festival

On the 10th Anniversary season, the Brant Theatre Workshops will be bringing the Bell Summer Theatre Festival to audiences once again. The theatre space is on the grounds of the Bell Homestead National Historic Site and admission to all performances is on a pay-what-you-can basis. This year the plays offered include: Snow White and Not the Usual Dwarves, Merchant of Venice, and Walk in my Moc’s.

The Canadian Military Heritage Museum Annual Open House

10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Canadian Military Heritage Museum, 347 Greenwich St., Brantford

Admission: FREE

Tour the museum, witness artillery firing demonstrations and the 1862 13th Battalion Drill Team, enjoy a pipe and drum band, re-enactors in full WWI and WWII military dress as well as a chance to win one of many door prizes. A silent auction will be held with great items to bid on. Check out the used book sale table where you can purchase, at a very low price, numerous military books. Food will be available and there is ample parking. The museum is also fully accessible.

Community, Craft and Culture Festival

Her Majesty’s Royal Chapel of the Mohawks, 301 Mohawk St., Brantford

Visit this beautiful national historic site for a wonderful day filled with good music and shopping! Food and craft vendors will be set up on the grounds outside of the Chapel, with live music from Six Nations artists happening inside.

Brantford Soccer Classic Tournament

The Brantford Soccer Classic is classified as a North American Competitive Tournament for U13 to U18 and is sanctioned by the OSA. The Tournament will be open to both boys and girls competitive teams. The U9 to U12 age groups will be run as a Festival and is open to both boys and girls recreational and development teams. Motorcycle Coffee Ride

Motorcycle Coffee Ride is a fundraiser for Participation House Brantford and Canadian Mental Health Association of Brant-Haldimand-Norfolk. All riders register at Starbucks between 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m. Participants will leave Starbucks at 9:30 a.m. and arrive at Participation House Brantford, 10 Bell Lane, at approximately 9:45 a.m. There will be brief greetings and proclamations from Participation House, Canadian Mental Health Association and Brantford’s Official Town Crier, David McKee, and the ride will continue finishing at the Naval Veterans Hall at 54 Wadsworth Street.

30th Annual Three Fires Homecoming Pow Wow & Traditional Gathering

The very first Pow Wow was held in 1987, since then, this event has grown in numbers and support. The Pow Wow is a way for First Nations people to share their unique customs and cultural identity through the heartbeat of the drum, song and way of life. The Traditional Pow Wow was (and still is) a way of life for many Ojibways. The three fires are symbolic of the Mississaugas traditional and political alliance with the other Ojibway, Odawa, and Potawatomi Nations.

The Community Charity Airshow is the new name for the former Rotary Charity Airshow at Brantford Airport. Beginning in 1999, the community of Brantford and surrounding areas were first introduced to an Airshow courtesy of the Canadian Forces Snowbirds. This family-friendly event raises funds for local charities, the Rotary Club of Brantford and Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum, while entertaining spectators and showcasing the thrill of aviation.
