Do you have a blank wall in your house that you can’t seem to fill with anything you’ve found in stores? On Culture Days weekend (September 30 and October 1), sixteen local artists’ will open their studios to give you the perfect opportunity to fill your home with art.
The Brant Studio Tour happens one weekend each fall, connecting the public and tourists with many of our talented local artists. Now in its 17th year, the event aims to promote the understanding, appreciation, and enjoyment of the wide range of high quality original art produced right here in Brantford and the County of Brant. See our local artists’ newest works – some still on the easel – and get a behind-the-scenes look at where they create. Ask questions, give feedback, and enjoy the time to get to know some of the community’s most talented creators.
This year’s Brant Studio Tour features 7 artists from Brantford, including painter Linda Blakney; mixed media artist Vadim Boldireff; potter Sue Cornell; mixed media artist Arlene Laskey; painter Pat Megraw; mixed media and mosaic artist Heather Vollans; and photographer Lise Bennett.
Nine artists from the County of Brant are participating as well, including: master weaver and knitter Deborah Briggs; fibre artist Jennifer Budd; printmaker and painter Ralph Heather; painter Jeanette Obbink; painter Holly O.; painter and jeweler Cindy Rampone; mixed media artist Thomas Stewart Robertson; painter Linda Verhey Sinke; and metalsmith Karen Wettlaufer.
