In 2016, over 300 motorcoaches visited Brantford and the surrounding area which is approximately 15,000 people. Groups travel by motorcoach for a day trip or an overnight and make stops at a number of “group friendly” attractions, restaurants and or festivals and events. This number of motorcoaches provided an economic impact over $1.1 million.
The Brantford Visitor & Tourism Centre market to tour operators, travel agents, seniors groups and special interest clubs by providing a publication that lists products in Brantford, the County of Brant and Six Nations. Unique day trip packages are put together including “group friendly” products to create a great day trip or overnight package to the area. These packages are presented to the agent or tour operator who then sells them to groups. A bus full of visitors will typically spend $5,000 to $8,000 per day on a scheduled trip.
The new Group Package Information Guide has over 101 restaurants, attractions, festivals, events and shopping locations for groups to visit and there are 22 new packages which can be offered as day trips or overnight vacations for groups included.
Tourism Brantford also provides a FREE welcome reception to all buses visiting the area and coffee, cookies and punch are given to everyone in the group.
Tourism Brantford is a destination marketing organization that seeks to maximize tourism potential for the City of Brantford and provide support to the area’s tourism industry. Tourism Brantford works with local partners who understand the economic importance of travel to the Brantford area.
