Somehow, the summer is almost over, and although many may not be looking forward to the cold months to come, the fall signals that Culture Days is on its way back to Brantford and area! Individuals and organizations in Brantford and area are busy planning their free and interactive Culture Days activities for you. This year’s Culture Days is Friday, September 29 through Sunday, October 1, so mark your calendars and start planning your free, interactive adventures around town.
Culture Days is a nationwide grassroots festival. Now in its 8th year, the festival invites the community to explore, discover, and participate in arts and culture in their community. It’s a weekend full of opportunities to learn from local talented creators, and to share your own talents with the community. There is no better time to discover what may be hidden in your own backyard, to take up a new hobby, or to find your new favourite cultural hotspot right here at home.
Spend the weekend touring local artists’ studios as part of the Brant Studio Tour; celebrate the unveiling of the City of Brantford’s newest Public Art project – the Little Free Libraries; learn a variety of new skills at the Brantford Public Library with their How-To-in-10 series; enjoy free guided tours of Chiefswood National Historic Site and Mohawk Chapel; participate in Orange Shirt Day with Woodland Cultural Centre as they walk together to support the healing journey of residential school survivors; enjoy live music at the Starving Artist Gallery Café in downtown Brantford; and much, much more.
