Taco Fest

Admission: $5 per person to sample tacos (entry to event is free)

The Grand River Council on Aging proudly presents Taco Fest – an Intergenerational Festival promoting age-friendliness in our city.  Local businesses and organizations are encouraged to enter with their teams and best taco recipes! Come sample tacos and vote for your favorite “People’s Choice” and “Best Presentation” awards.  There will also be a chance for local artisans to display and market their wares in the Marketplace.

The Personal Computer Museum is only open on select dates throughout the year, and Robot day is surely not to be missed! Come and visit Brantford’s first computer museum on this exciting day.  We are excited to announce that R2-E6, a cousin of the famous droid from Star Wars, will be present for everyone to meet and get a photo with! This droid was recently in the company of Mark "Luke" Hammill! Feel free to bring and show off your own robots as well.

Brant Theatre Workshops Presents “The Art of War”

Brant Theatre Workshops presents an original play about Brantford’s own Lawren Harris, founder of the Group of Seven, called “The Art of War.” This multi-media production looks at his world during the years of the Great War leading up to the birth of the Group of Seven. Join the Lawren Harris Movement for this one-of-a-kind production to learn more about the historical background of Harris and his family, and what was happening in his life prior to the Group of Seven’s early years.

Ghost Encounters at Brantwood Farms

Come out for a haunted adventure in support of Participation House Brantford! If you’re brave enough, hop on the wagon for a haunted hayride and then get scared beyond measure in the haunted barn! Feel free to dress up in your scariest costumes! Please note that this event comes with a parental advisory cautioning people that the hayride and haunted barn may be too frightening for young children and some adults.

If you’re feeling brave enough, you can even have our fortune teller look into her crystal ball and read your future!

This one-of-a-kind piece was created by Dave Hind and the Aluminum Quilting Society, along with help from hundreds of members of our community. Be the first to see the brand new piece of public art, which pays homage to the impact of Harris and the Group of Seven on Canadian art, while also celebrating the many local citizens and groups that made Brantford what it is today. Enjoy some treats on the Lawren Harris Movement, and help us to wrap up the wonderful Lawren Harris Week.

Halloween Haunt

Join us for an exclusive look into the dark side of Glenhyrst Gallery. Our friends from S.N.I.P.E. (Six Nations Investigating Paranormal Encounters) will lead a tour of the gallery, as they recount stories and unveil evidence of paranormal activity at Glenhyrst.

The data, footage and stories will be recounted from first-hand experiences that the S.N.I.P.E. team will collect over several evenings at the Gallery, prior to this event.

Light refreshments will be served following the ghost hunt.
