Line the streets and bring your chairs, blankets and hot chocolate because Santa Claus is coming to downtown Brantford! Celebrating over 40 years of bringing joy to the community, the JCI Brantford Santa Claus Parade will take place Saturday, November 25, 2017.
The fun begins at 6:00 p.m. as marching bands, local businesses, schools and more will parade through downtown Brantford on fantastically decorated floats. Keep your eyes peeled for local dignitaries on the many floats as well, including Mayor Chris Friel and Brantford’s award-winning Town Crier David McKee. The theme of this year’s parade is “Christmas Across Canada” and celebrates the 43rd Annual JCI Brantford Santa Claus Parade.
Children will love the candy distributed along the parade route, and greetings from Santa’s elves that walk the parade route each year collecting letters from children to give to Santa Claus. The parade starts at Stanley and Dalhousie Streets and ends with an After Party at Harmony Square in downtown Brantford. Upwards of 20,000 people will join the festivities, televised live on Rogers Cable 20.
The parade closes with Santa Claus himself and will end with a party in Harmony Square. The Parade After Party in Harmony Square will take place from approximately 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and includes free photos with Mr. and Mrs. Claus, a meet-and-greet with The Grinch & Cindy Lou Who, face painting, live Christmas carols, Christmas tree lighting ceremony, and free ice skating (weather permitting).
