The Golden Teapot is an enchanting tearoom within the beautiful Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant mansion, which offers traditional English high and low tea throughout the week. The owners are lifelong Brantford residents, Brian and Linda Pickering. They originally opened the Golden Teapot in 2009 in a local gift shop. It soon became so popular that it needed to move to Glenhyrst Art Gallery of Brant to accommodate its following of fans.
The Golden Teapot offers three different services: English Low Tea, English High Tea, and Royal Kensington Tea. The most basic service is anything but modest – English Low Tea consists of a beautiful two-tiered platter adorned with freshly baked scones with Devonshire cream and lovely preserves, delectable homemade sweets, and savory finger sandwiches; choose from an extensive menu of the finest quality loose leaf teas served in beautiful China to accompany your meal. If you have a bit more of an appetite, opt for the traditional English High Tea, which adds another tier to your platter, as well as cheese, and fresh seasonal fruit and vegetable crudites. Those looking for a the grandest high tea experience will love the Royal Kensington Tea, which adds fresh flowers, the finest China and linens, and a more extensive menu of sweet and savoury treats on three tiers.
The Golden Teapot is located at 20 Ava Road in Brantford, and is a destination for all tea lovers, and those looking for the perfect way to commemorate a special occasion. Sittings at The Golden Teapot are by reservation only and available Tuesday to Sunday at 12pm or 3pm. For availability or to reserve your table, please contact Linda at 519-753-3797.
