The Brantford Farmers’ Market has been an iconic town staple since it first opened its doors (or rather, set up it’s tables!) long ago. It’s hard to believe this has been a Brantford tradition for well over 100 years. Established in downtown Brantford in 1848, the market moved to its current location at 79 Icomm Drive (at the intersection of Icomm Drive and Market Street) in 1965. Presently, the market includes over 40 indoor stalls (open year-round) as well as seasonal outdoor stalls (open May to October). Up to 3,500 visitors enjoy the farm fresh food each week!
The variety of local fare for sale reflects the diversity of the community; they offer products such as fresh local produce, poultry, deli cuts, fresh and frozen fish and seafood, farm fresh eggs, cut flowers, handmade chocolates, popcorn and nuts, local handmade crafts, baked goods, and homemade Polish, Latin and Mediterranean foods. There is also a delicious breakfast and lunch counter serving hot food.
On Saturday, May 26, 2018, from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., join the Brantford Farmers’ Market for their annual Spring Fling event. Celebrate the local spring planting that will bring a bountiful harvest in the coming months. Enjoy a BBQ, face painting, free samples, children’s activities, and of course, great shopping!
The Brantford Farmers’ Market is open year round on Fridays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and on Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
