Attention music lovers: The DT Concert Series has returned to Paris this fall! The much anticipated series will be returning to the historic Dominion Telegraph Building located alongside the Grand River in downtown Paris. Started in 2016 by Noisemaker Management and the Arlington Hotel, the series has hosted well-known artists such as Terra Lightfoot, The O'Pears and even Juno Award Winners The East Pointers and Joel Plaskett.
This year the concert series is expected to draw major attention across Southwestern Ontario, with famous acts stopping by from all across the country. Ottawa-born singer and songwriter Kathleen Edwards is set to open this year’s series on September 20th. The country and folk artist has accomplished a great deal in her career, with an appearance on the “Late Show with David Letterman” as well as numerous Juno Award nominations over the last decade.
Other artists set to perform include Aboriginal Folk artists Digging Roots, Halifax-based pop band Port Cities, and folk-rock artist Martha Wainwright, who has performed at numerous celebrated venues and festivals including the Hollywood Bowl, Lollapalooza and even the Nelson Mandela 46664 concert in South Africa.
Closing the series will be Canadian pop-rock legend Steven Page. Page was one of the founding members of the Barenaked Ladies. He wrote and co-wrote such major hits as “If I Had $1,000,000” and “Brian Wilson”. After going solo in 2009, he reached success on his own, releasing four solo albums in 9 years. He has since sang the national anthem at the NHL Winter Classic and performed as part of the Trans-Canada Highwaymen alongside Chris Murphy of Sloan and Moe Berg of The Pursuit of Happiness. Page even hosted his own television show, entitled “The Illegal Eater”. Who better to finish off this concert series than such a celebrated Canadian artist?
