Art In The Park Welcomes You

Art In The Park Welcomes You

The neighbourhood park. It’s a place for kids to run around and play, it’s an open space to take your dog for a walk or it’s simply a peaceful location to take a leisurely stroll and contemplate life. But a great trend is coming back. Neighbourhood parks are taking on a renaissance of their own as being the community location for larger social gatherings. A place where you can “get to know your neighbours” and take part in fun and interactive entertainment without travelling too far. Neighbourhood Associations and the volunteers/residents who help run these events are helping us to explore the surroundings just outside our front door.
For the past three years, the Equal Ground Community Gardens and the Branlyn Neighbourhood Association have brought Art in the Park to Lynden Hills Park (363 Brantwood Park Road) and have averaged between 400-500 guests each year. This year it will be held on Saturday, August 4, 2018 from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. This is a family friendly day that aims to educate the public on Community Gardens and to raise the profile of art and culture in the community.  It features live music, local artists and welcomes everyone to join in this event that puts us back in touch with the neighbourhood, the community, and the city.
Art in the Park provides a venue for local artists to have their work seen and to help make connections with other artists. The city has so many incredible artists and entertainers and this event provides an excellent opportunity to interact with them and learn more about the creators and artisans that reside right here in Brantford.
Chad Polishak will be the MC for the day, introducing entertainers and alerting guests to what demonstrations and classes will be happening as they are coming up. The lineup for Art in the Park is outstanding. Here are the highlights:
