A Tournament in Honour of Marlene Sharpe

A Tournament in Honour of Marlene Sharpe

Marlene Sharpe was employed with the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts for over 25 years.

She had a passion for volunteering, and marketing was her genius.  For the past 6 years, Marlene and Liz organized a yearly golf tournament and invited corporate clients to help promote the upcoming 100th anniversary of the Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts.

Sadly, in January of this year after a tough battle, Marlene lost her life to cancer. Her passion for helping others and her love for theatre and the Sanderson Centre were honoured this year at the tournament.  It was a fitting way to honour her memory.

The tournament took place on September 9th and a total of 60 golfers and friends came together to help raise money for Nova Vita and celebrate the upcoming anniversary of the Sanderson Centre.  A total of $565.00 was given to Nova Vita along with bags filled to the brims with donation clothes.

The Sanderson Centre will continue the golf tournament in 2019 to honour Marlene Sharpe’s efforts and the 100th anniversary of the beautiful majestic theatre that she loved so much - The Sanderson Centre for the Performing Arts.
