Santa Claus is coming to town! Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 24th because that’s when Santa and his eight dashing reindeer will make their way through downtown Brantford.
Now in its 44th
year, the JCI Santa Claus Parade
is a long-standing cherished tradition. This year the fun will start at 6:00 p.m., when marching bands, beautifully decorated floats, and costumed characters will kick-off the parade on Stanley Street and march through the City to finish in grand style at downtown’s Harmony Square
. The theme of this year’s parade is “A Cinematic Christmas” and participants are encouraged to excel in the following areas:
- Best Overall Entry
- Most Enthusiastic
- Best Elementary School
- Best High or Post Secondary School
- Best Theme
- Most Original Float
- Best Service Club/Church
Every entry is eligible for judging - and the rewards are great! The JCI’s advise keeping that in mind when participants are designing their futuristic masterpiece!
After Santa makes his big debut, be sure to follow him into Harmony Square, where the parade after-party will take place. Don’t miss the opportunity to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus and even have your photo take with them! You may also get your face painted, participate in the Salvation Army kettle kick-off & toy drive, taste some delicious festive treats, and enjoy free ice skating (weather permitting).
After all that, huddle up close with your friends and loved ones to watch the much anticipated Christmas tree lighting ceremony and join in the signing of live Christmas carols.
The Brantford JCI Santa Claus Parade and after-party are both FREE events. For more information, including parade route details, please visit their websites:
