Classic Albums Live Performs Queen

Admission: $40/person
Note for note and cut for cut, this show will provide the best and most famous songs from Queen.  Favourites such as Bohemian Rhapsody, You’re my Best Friend and Love of my Life.  These songs show the profound depth of songwriting but Classic Albums Live is up for the challenge!  Not to be missed!

World Nutella Day

Have you ever loved something so much you thought it deserved a holiday? Have you been known to eat your favourite chocolate-hazelnut spread straight from the jar with a spoon? Then you’ll love World Nutella® Day in Brantford!
In 2007, an American blogger named Sara Rosso loved Nutella® so much that she founded World Nutella® Day on February 5, 2017. Fans from around the world came together to celebrate their love of the delicious spread – made right here in Brantford by Ferrero.

14th Annual Soup Challenge

What could be better than a warm bowl of soup on a cold winter’s day? And what could be better than enjoying those bowls of soup while helping to raise funds for a worthwhile community agency? It’s that time of the year again; time to enjoy some of the best soups in the area for the 14th Annual Soup Challenge hosted by the Brant Employment Centre, St. Leonard’s Community Services.

Brantford Downtown Jazz presents Karen Thorton

This singer-songwriter has been performing in the GTA for a number of years as a solo artist, fronting a Jazz Trio and singing with the Russ Little Big Band. Karen’s music has been described as Jazz infused vocals with a touch of 70’s soul. Her 2015 album, Rain down on me, was nominated for a Hamilton Music Jazz Award. Karen’s most recent release, Live at the Old Fire hall was recorded in front of a live audience.

Rumble the Concert

Heritage Day Workshop

The theme of this year’s annual Heritage Day workshop is "Brantford: Celebrating our Past, Building our Future." Join us at this free event to learn about Brantford’s industrial, Indigenous, and military past, as well as where we’re headed next.  The Heritage Day Workshop is organized by the City of Brantford in partnership with the Heritage Working Group. The Heritage Working Group helps organize the workshop in partnership with municipalities, other agencies and volunteers.

Tchaikovsky's enchanting Swan Lake, the full-length story ballet with choreography by Marius Petipa and Lev Ivanov was turned into a spectacular dance. The heart-warming story celebrates the magic and wonder with the talented and creative crew of 55 dancers, this must-see opulent ballet tells the familiar tale of an evil sorcerer standing in the way of true love. This magical ballet is great for the whole family! 

Frosty Fest

Frosty Fest has become one of Brantford’s anchor, annual events seeing several thousand attend annually during Ontario’s Family Day weekend in February. Some of the event highlights include professional ice carving, horse-drawn trolley rides, ball hockey, an artisans’ bazaar, figure skating shows, a street midway by Campbell Amusements, inflatables, a snow slide, free skating and pony rides.

After last season's three sold-out performances of "Presto, Mambo!", the Platypus Theatre returns with another one of their exciting children-oriented shows, "Bach to the Future" featuring young Corky.  Corky’s eccentric Uncle Siegfried is the obvious person to help her with her student project on classical music. While poking around in his peculiar workshop, she accidentally combines the ingredients of a magical musical spell making her tumble through time to meet some of the world’s most fascinating composers.

Carl Dixon is one of Canada’s stellar rock musicians. His first international record deal came with Coney Hatch in the 1980s. Big tours, radio hits, MTV, "the big time" all came with that. Carl then went on to perform with some of Canada’s most iconic bands. Two different hitches as the lead singer of the Guess Who bookended a four-year stint playing with April Wine.  In 2008 Carl’s life was nearly cut short. He barely survived a shocking head-on car accident in Australia while on a break from touring with The Guess Who. 

Chili Willy Cook-Off

This popular event showcases local restaurants competing for the coveted title of “Brantford’s Best Bowl of Chili” and is sure to fill your appetite. For only $5 per person, you can taste test multiple bowls of chili, enjoy great live entertainment, and free ice skating on the outdoor rink in Harmony Square.  

Pete the Cat

When Pete the Cat gets caught rocking out after bedtime, the cat-catcher sends him to live with the Biddle family to learn his manners - and boy are they square! For the groovy blue cat, life is an adventure no matter where you wind up, so the minute Pete walks in the door, he gets the whole family rocking. The whole family that is, except for young Jimmy Biddle, the most organized second grader on planet earth.
