Brantford’s biggest music festival – WTFest – is back on July 27, 2019 at Lions Park! Now in its 4th year, WTFest started in 2015 as a two-day outdoor music festival in Brantford. The festival was created by Jamie Stephens from JSE events, and Lance and Mark Calbeck from Calbeck Investments. Phil Gillies and MJ Perry have joined the ownership team this year. The festival has quickly become a fan favourite summer music event, and has featured performances by groups like Our Lady Peace, Billy Talent, Collective Soul, Big Wreck, Monster Truck, The Trews, and more.
This year’s festival is headlined by Juno-award winning modern rock revivalists, The Sheepdogs. The Sheepdogs blend Southern boogie rock, groove-based psychedelia, and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock and roll revival. Their chart-topping singles include, “I Don’t Know”, “The Way It Is”, and “I’ve Got a Hole Where My Heart Should Be”.
Other bands performing on the main stage include: Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, Juno-award winning The Beaches, and Brantford’s own Ascot Royals. The Ascot Royals have become one of the most talked about bands to emerge onto Canada’s rock scene with their own trademark brand of danceable alternative arena rock, pop hooks, and uplifting lyrics.
WTFest will also include performances by some of the best up and coming bands from across Ontario on the second festival stage. Previous performers include Quick Wicket, Harbour, and The Good Goddamns.
General admission and accessible seating tickets for WTFest are only $28 and tickets are available online. VIP tickets include access to a VIP area, premium food vendors, upgraded washrooms and a VIP beer tent, and are available for $75 (note that VIP tickets are available for 19+ only). Parking is available for $10 and free shuttles will be available.
