As Canada prepares to celebrate its 152nd birthday, activities are happening everywhere to commemorate our great nation. With many festivals and events to choose from, the Brantford Red Sox of the Intercounty Baseball League have a great option for those looking to take in a baseball game as part of their weekend festivities.
The Brantford Red Sox will be hosting the Hamilton Cardinals at Arnold Anderson Stadium located in Cockshutt Park (35 Sherwood Drive) at 2:00 p.m. on Canada Day. The pre-game festivities include a concert by Brantford solo pop-rock artist, Innersha. Fans will also receive Canada flags and pins as a special gift to help cheer the hometown team to victory.
Admission is $10 for Adults, $7 for Seniors/Students and kids 13 years and under will be free. Tickets are available for purchase at the gate at all home games.
This family friendly event will have fun and excitement in store for baseball fans of all ages on this national holiday. And be sure to head on over to Steve Brown Sports Complex/Lions Park after the game to continue the party at Brantford’s Canada Day Celebration featuring Canadian headliner Colin James at 8:30 p.m. followed by a dazzling fireworks display at 10:00 p.m.
