Meet the Tourism Brantford Staff

Tourism Brantford is a destination marketing organization that seeks to promote the City of Brantford and its wealth of tourism assets and attractions. The members of our highly energetic and dynamic team come from varying academic backgrounds and work experiences, but we all share a passion for travel and tourism—especially when it comes to our great city.

We have six full-time staff and five part-time staff members on our motivated team, each with a unique role in helping to grow tourism and provide service to the Brantford community. Our key markets are managed by the following full time staff members:

Nicole Drake, Manager of Tourism, Culture & Sport

Nicole has been the manager of the Tourism Division since 2014 and works with the Tourism staff to promote our great city and promote local tourism industry partners in a number of markets, including: visitor services, sport tourism, cultural development, travel media, leisure travel, group travel and corporate markets. She is the lead for destination development initiatives and sits on the board of directors of the Hamilton Halton Brant Regional Tourism Association. Nicole first joined the department in 2010 and has a Master of Arts in Anthropology and a Master of Applied Environmental Science in Local Economic Development.

Caeleigh Harding, Corporate Tourism Coordinator

Tourism Brantford is pleased to welcome Caeleigh to the team as of June 2019. Caeleigh has a Bachelor of Commerce degree in Hotel and Food Administration from the University of Guelph, and brings a wealth of corporate sales experience and knowledge to our team. She will be the lead for the group tour and meetings and conventions markets, including itinerary development, familiarization (FAM) tours for group tour operators, bid support or welcome bags, and hotel group rates.

Connor Webb, Sport Tourism Marketing Assistant

Tourism Brantford is pleased to welcome Connor to the team for the summer of 2019. Connor is currently working towards a Bachelor of Commerce degree from the University of Guelph, specializing in Marketing Management. He is passionate about consumer behaviour and marketing analytics, and we look forward to using his knowledge throughout the coming months. In this role, Connor will be assisting the Sport Tourism Coordinator.

Corrie Francis, Administrative Coordinator

Corrie comes to the Tourism Division after 13 years as the Business Resource Clerk at the Brantford-Brant Business Resource Enterprise Centre (BRC). Corrie oversees the visitor services area of the Division, including providing local information and booking meeting rooms. She is responsible for Economic Development & Tourism administration and clerking the department’s four advisory committees.

Ela Stypa Jones, Sport Tourism Coordinator

Ela accepted the position of full-time Sport Tourism Coordinator in April 2019. Ela has been with the City as the Tourism Marketing & Services Assistant since 2005, was the Administrative Chair for the 2017 Ontario ParaSport Winter Games and also served as the Arts & Culture Coordinator in 2018. Ela will be the lead staff person for tournament bids and services, and the City’s Municipal Sport Tourism Strategy. She is also the co-chair of the 2021 Ontario 55+ Winter Games Organizing Committee. Ela is currently working towards a Certificate in Event Management from Humber College.

Kara Davey, Tourism Marketing Coordinator

Kara joined the department in 2016 and is the lead for the tourism division’s marketing efforts, acting as the gatekeeper for Tourism Brantford communications. She is responsible for writing and releasing media releases, daily blogs, and weekly e-newsletters. She also manages the Tourism Brantford websites and social media accounts and is the project manager of the annual visitor guide. Kara has an Honours BA from Western University in Media, Information and Technoculture (MIT) and English Literature. She has received a Certificate in Creative Writing and a Professional Certificate in Marketing from Western, and she is also a published author.

Sara Munroe, Arts & Culture Development Officer

In her new role as Arts & Culture Development Officer, Sara will continue to be responsible for Public Art, Municipal Cultural Plan implementation and cultural development programs, and will also work with Economic Development staff on growing the film portfolio. Sara is the City’s contact for Ontario Creates (formerly OMDC) and the Creative City Network of Canada. Sara has an Honours BA in History and Studio Art from the University of Guelph and a Master’s Degree (MMSt) in Museum Studies from the University of Toronto.

Our staff would not be complete without the help and assistance from our part-time tourism counsellors: Audrey Loch, Hilary Jackson, Iriss Schuster, Lisa Burdett and Trish Barsby.
