Fall is in the air, but just before we throw on our cozy sweaters and start buying pumpkin flavoured everything, let’s enjoy one last hoorah in the sun at the St. George AppleFest on September 21 and 22, 2019.
Named as one of Ontario’s Top 100 Festivals by Festivals & Events Ontario the last five years, and winner of the 2018 #GoodTimesinBrant award, St. George AppleFest is a fun outing for the whole family. Held on the last two days of summer, the St. George AppleFest welcomes thousands annually for this marquee event in the County of Brant. Main Street in St. George transforms into an apple-loving oasis, where vendors offer tons of unique shopping, continuous entertainment, delicious foods, and activities that can be enjoyed by the whole family.
New this year is that part of the festival is designated a Farmers' Market. This area will feature vendors who sell home-grown produce, either fresh, processed or preserved.
In the designated children’s area, families can enjoy activities such as pony rides, inflatable bouncy castles, games and more. Choose a friend or family member to bob for apples and make sure you bring your camera! Local farmers set up stands all along main street to showcase their delicious apple products, including: apple pies, apple dumplings, candy apples, apple cider, apple butter, and bushels of delicious local apples, of course! One of Brantford’s own long-standing farms, Brantwood Farms, will be there, so don’t forget to swing by their booth and say hi!
Enjoy free admission all weekend long to this event, and be sure to stay for the Community Street Party, located at the Main Stage (across from the post office) on Saturday from 6:00 p.m. until 11:00 p.m. Free parking is available at Elliott Soccer Field, located West of St. George on Highway 5. A free shuttle will be available to drop patrons off in the heart of the festival.
Visit our neighbouring friends in the County of Brant and experience the rural charm of St. George and enjoy the excitement of AppleFest!
