Tomorrow is the first day back to school, and the little ones may be feeling sad that the dog days of summer are over. We’re here with some good news though – there’s plenty of fun to look forward to this fall, especially at Brantwood Farms.
Brantwood Farms is a family-owned and operated farm open May to December that offers fun family events, delicious baked goods and the opportunity to pick-your-own strawberries, apples and pumpkins during harvest time. Pick-your-own strawberries in mid-June and July, and apples and pumpkins daily throughout September and October.
This year the Brantwood Farms Fall Festival is bigger and better than ever because it runs every weekend in September AND October! That’s an entire extra month of fall festival’ing fun. Every Saturday and Sunday you can enjoy fun for the whole family with a variety of activities to try. Experience a corn maze, haunted barn, obstacle course, corn pit, pumpkin bowling, needle-in-the-haystack, pumpkin hop, pedal go-karts, and much more in addition to lots of tasty food and treats. New this year is the ‘giant jumping pillow.’ What’s a giant jumping pillow, you say? Head on over to the Brantwood Farms Instagram account to see a demonstration by Andrew and Kara. It’s all the fun you need this fall to put a little extra ‘bounce’ in your step.
The hayride at the Fall Festival is also a must-do. The rides cost 3 tickets/person and takes you deep into the back fields of the farm. There you will get to take a scenic walk across a babbling brook, goof around on the outdoor playground equipment and pick your own pumpkins right from the patch. It’s an authentically fall experience that’s fun for the whole family. Just don’t forget your ‘return ticket’ to get back on the hayride! (*HINT* It has something to do with Farmer Tom’s favourite hockey team.)
Brantwood Farms offers many events throughout the year, including an Easter Egg Hunt, Sunflower Experience, and more. Their events are always carefully thought out, well run and guaranteed fun for the whole family. Between the beautiful atmosphere and the heavenly aromas pouring out of the bake shop, it’s impossible not to have a good time (or to leave empty handed!)
The Fall Festival is on each Saturday and Sunday through September and October, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free, but activities cost anywhere from 1 to 4 tickets a piece. Tickets cost 5 for $10, 11 for $20, 28 for $50 or 60 for $100.
